Call for submissions: The Route Book at Bedtime

UK publisher Route is open to submissions for its newest anthology.

"Apparently, when we get in bed at night, it takes an average of twenty minutes to fall asleep. There are several uses we could put to this time. The Route Book at Bedtime is looking to put the ideal story into the bedtime reader."

Mailed submissions of up to 5,000 words are being accepted until June 30, 2008. Full guidelines and FAQ (includes payment and rights details).

Pulp Idol 2008

Science fiction and fantasy submissions of 1,000 to 2,000 are currently being accepted for the Pulp Idol 2008 competition. The winning story will be published in an anthology to be distributed with SFX Magazine this summer. The winner also receives a one-year subscription to SFX Magazine, contributors' copies of the anthology, and framed artwork commissioned by the magazine to complement the winning story. Deadline is June 3, 2008.  Previously unpublished GB fiction writers only. Full guidelines.
